The English Holly in my backyard looks great in the snow! (But it won’t be long until the birds have eaten all the berries…)
These look good enough to eat! But these berries are for the birds.
The aptly named “winterberry holly” (Ilex verticillata) is a shrub/small tree that has nice flowers in the spring and develops berries in the summer. The berries are a spectacular sight in the winter garden (especially once it snows)!
Cold temperatures are coming towards the end of this week…I have a feeling it will be the end of the dahalias for this year….and just when they were blooming so nicely!
I love blues in the garden and I especially love this Salvia…this annual gets planted every year in my garden!

The Passaflora (Passion flower) has been blooming like crazy for the past few weeks…
Pennisetum setaceum ‘Rubrum’ - Purple fountain grass - One of my favorite grasses! I just wish it was hardy in my area so it wouldn’t die in late fall.
